Community Profile

The project team has created a Community Profile as part of the Master Plan update process to make background data (previously stored in Appendix B of the Master Plan) more accessible to the public. There are two parts to the Community Profile, as described below:

Part 1: Existing Conditions highlights the existing conditions that inform Carson City’s land use policies and development patterns. Six topics were included as part of the existing conditions analysis:

  • Land Use

  • Infrastructure, Services, and Community Facilities

  • Transportation and Mobility

  • Open Space, Parks, and Recreation

  • Environmental Values and Constraints

  • Historical and Cultural Resources

Part 2: Trends and Projections sets the stage for discussing future growth and development in Carson City by exploring current trends and projections. Four topics were included as part of the trends and projections analysis:

  • Demographic trends

  • Economic trends

  • Housing trends

  • Future Development Capacity
